Catchup aargh

Dammit, I'm nominally working less hours per day than I've ever worked before, and can I find time to blog? Can I hell. Follows short-but-sweet catchup.

Er. Have spent last week-anna-bit doing training full-time, as I'm currently Between Rotations; the world of sales beckoneth at the end of next week. As consequence, have had occasional actual free time; not much, but hardly complaining.

She is dogsbodying in London for the summer, which means I get to spend not-enough-but-some of my newfound quality time hanging round her flat monopolising the TV to watch News 24 ^_^ It also means I had the single easiest Tube journey of my life on Friday, four stops on a deserted Jubilee line (cowards!) when it would have been an hour-and-a-half plus security alerts for my usual journey home. *smug*

Now what needs catching up? Weekend before last we journeyed to the wilds Oop North to visit herself plus family, all demonstrating more grace under fire than the average human being should be capable of (as usual). And lo, fun was had ^_^ We burned things ceremonially in a pyre (alright, in an aluminium watering can) in the garden. Went to see films - I saw War of the Worlds, which I was really pleasantly surprised by quality-wise. Spielberg hasn't turned out anything like that in a while, sappy ending notwithstanding. And we picked fruit and garden-centred and did Rural Things, and lo it was blissful, especially when you realised how little it cost on account of not being London O.o

Other than that, 's been pretty uneventful round here, except for the multitude of stresses caused by my decisions to see about getting meself a flat. Oh joy, the world of estate agents and mortgages is impinging on mine, and I LIKED MINE BETTER O.o Still, I suppose I shall be glad when I am bankrupting myself monthly for the sake of a natty little broom cupboard by the river.

Oh, and I saw Madagascar. Pretty good. I liked the penguins. ^________^

All things strategic considered I'm sure we can help. We are good at repairing buildings the original owners no longer need/want...
