A Lament, and some flats

WHEN exactly did I start thinking in management-speak? O.o So I've been in the new job three days, and I'm sitting at my desk at about 3pm and suddenly I realise that I'm about to pass out with exhaustion. Thinks: why on earth am I so tired, it's only Wednesday? Replies wisely: ahh, I've spent nearly three solid days right out of my comfort zone.

And then I had to go to the toilets and flagellate myself with a branded ringbinder until I regained my senses.

*siiiiiiigh* As a comment, it would totally make sense if it wasn't in businessese. I am a happy bunny if I can sit at my desk all day and distribute expertise, mess with Excel, problem-solve and communicate with the outside world entirely through email. What I really hate is having to work when I don't feel like I really understand what's going on, and conducting business via large numbers of cold-calls with people I don't know. So guess what I've been doing for the last three days?

Never mind. In the words of the immortal Caffeine Encomium, I'm gettin' things done. Also, have viewed three flats to date and am still thinking about one of them... another viewing on Saturday of a couple of other flats, and then if it's still on sale I might think about making an offer. Ooh, how exciting. This, I suspect, will be the one and only fun bit of flat-buying.

Flats so far:

El Ideal Homes Personality-Free flat, bit dark but v pretty, approx. similar layout to her flat if the hallway was longer and narrower and the kitchen and bathroom both fit down one side. Teeny privacy-free patio with table and chairs incl. river view. This is the one I'm still thinking about.

El 'Oozes Character!' Warehouse Conversion, exposed brickwork and strange steel beams sticking up through the floor. Bigger. Liked it a lot. Also bit dark. Too expensive though and I liked the other one better.

El 'Hope You're Not Claustrophobic!' Shad Thames flat, *amazing* location but actually so small that turning round while wearing swishy clothing could knock entire building down. Bloody great pillar in middle of microscopic lounge/bedroom does not help. Bed has to fold down into space normally occupied by lone armchair. I couldn't have the Ass no Ryu over to sleep because there actually isn't that much floor space. And it's still more expensive than #1. There are limits.

Wipping yourself with a folder?! All right! Not sure how though!
As for the flates the description of number one might help the minions but I've never seen that with which you comapre it. Then again AFF/The Red Corps/The C2s could solve the description problem...
