Thank you, Health Secretary

So mum's operation on Saturday got cancelled at the last minute. *unimpressed* Thanks to all who sent good wishes! They were much appreciated and I have saved them all up and will re-deliver in two weeks, which is now when this dumbass op is supposed to happen.

If anyone feels like enlivening their otherwise boring lives with a good 'tut tut' about the state of the modern health service, the reason was that due to recent efficiency savings the Lister and QEII hospitals are now sharing only one machine for sterilising surgical instruments (they used to have one each). And surprise surprise, they ran out of clean sharp things.

It does sometimes worry me that both my parents work for these people. What if one day they efficiency save the batteries in the fire alarms or something?

We have clean sharp things... (including ones designed to heal- amazing that).
Add my best wishes.

Thanks, I will! ^_^ And I'll let you know if we need to borrow any instruments for field surgery...
