Feast of Fools

...cos it gets a mite chilly standing around in the wind tunnels of Oxford with nothing to keep you warm but counter-chant deathmatches between the bloke with the PA at the front of the demo and the girl with the PA somewhere behind you.

So me and Ivan and Helen went and demonstrated against the ALF thugs in Oxford yesterday, which was indeed considerable fun and full of mouthy students, small children in pushchairs yelling slogans, and wonderful scary old ladies/gentlemen of the kind who congregate in Oxford, who haven't been scared of anything since World War II and certainly aren't going to start now thank you very much.

Apparently we outnumbered the halfwits by about a million to one, which is also nice, but didn't really matter since smart policing meant we never saw hide nor hair of them apart from the occasional catcall. It was a dreadfully middle-class protest - we were all terribly cooperative and thanked the police politely at the end as we dispersed (they seemed slightly nonplussed by this ^____^)

And today we have collected rather nice leaders from the broadsheets, which is helpful.
