Angel Sanctuary |
Messiah |
|
Opening song of the AS OVA - intense, menacing goth pop with a soft, fast hypnotic drumbeat and lots of whispering over the top. Sounds like Angel Sanctuary ought to feel. ^_^

Boys Be |
My Tomorrow |
|
Boys Be opening, fairly standard but nonetheless nice J-pop, gentle and pleasant without being slow or boring. Cheerful - like a mellower, more melodic version of Card Captor Sakura music.

Cyber Team in Akihabara |
Taiyou no Hana |
|
Ending song of Cyber Team, early-nineties-soft-rock-ballad in feel, unremarkable but light with a vocalist I like very much.

Hack Liminality |
The Story Where You Are |
|
Opening of the 3rd .hack//LIMINALITY OVA, and Yuki Kajiura's at it yet again. Heavy, obtrusive dance beat with the usual layered vocals over the top. Less dreamy in feel than some of the others, but also much catchier melody. Looooovely.

Kazemakase Tsukikage Ran |
Kazemakase 2 |
|
Ending song - chirpy and mellow (yes, it can be both) with a slight traditional Japanese folk music feel - lots of reedy whistles, plucked strings and gentle beat. Slightly silly and distinctly finger-tapping. ^_^

Legend of Mana |
Song of Mana |
|
Ending song, starts off slow and boring but picks up into a fairly standard ending-style ballad, enlivened somewhat by good vocals and an unusual melody.

Petshop of Horrors |
Melody |
|
Ending song, and my least favourite of the PSOH music, but that *is* in comparison to the wonderful Jikuu Ryokou and the ethereal background music. Mildly goth-y rock, similar to the opening but slower and less interesting, with that moaning vocal style which I really like. If you're an X music fan, you may well like this.

Shin Getter Robo |
Heats |
|
Second opening song, and absolutely classic in its mecha-show-opening style. Fast, enthusiastic J-pop/rock, terminally catchy melody, bloke who is almost certainly singing 'Fly, fly to the sky, lift your head up high, the bird of freedom shall fly, nothing will stop us' in Japanese, and lots of random brass accompaniment. Cheese, cheese and more cheese. I love it. ^________^
