Wheee! Mammoth site updates! Well, mammoth in my site update terms. A new winamp skin in the media section of 'wanderings' at Avernus, and - more importantly - three random generator inspired fanfics! Yay! They're in the wanderings section too - two by me, and one by Liz. Which, incidentally Liz, I loved to bits - it's just the *best* set-up for that couple! Very nicely done. *happy fangirl smile*

As for anything else - um, well, I've been making winamp skins and thinking about fics. That's about it.

Oh, except we've been doing the choir recording. *shrugs* Seems to be going okay thus far. It's kinda dull, as anyone who's done a recording before will know. Still, we've got last year's senior organ scholar back to play for us, which is great - in between recording sessions he entertained us with organ variations on 'Thunderbirds'. 'Like a Virgin', and other worthy tunes.

...odd guy.

Ooh, and I also had possibly the weirdest dinner ever. See, two of my friends in choir are both graduate history students, studying strange high-powered things like French cardinals of the 17th century and things. In any case, one of them has been lent his supervisor's rooms for a couple of weeks while his supervisor is away, and he suggested that we grab some dinner and go back there for the couple of hours between rehearsal and recording. The thing is, these rooms are the most scarily Oxford rooms you've seen in your *life*. They're in an ancient part of New College, which is probably the most scarily picturesque and Oxford of all the colleges. He has a suite of rooms with sitting room, office, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom, all completely lined with books and decorated in a somewhat Napeleonic style, complete with etchings of notable French dignitories. They overlook the grounds of New College and the old town walls. So we sat there over dinner, in these sumptuously Oxford rooms, discussing Papal relations with France under Mazarin. ^_^;;;;

I felt *somewhat* out of my depth, but it was definitely one of those Oxford kodak moments...

We love you Jane, honestly we do! ^_^

Our choir recording was a very random thing. One piece we sang unaccompanied, only to discover at the end of a perfect take that the organ had mysteriously been playing a B very quietly the whole way through, which the recording had picked up. People sneezing, talking over the end bits of the tracks by accident... oh what fun, not.

I didn't buy a copy, but apparently it wouldn't have made much difference - I couldn't go "Listen, Mum! That's ME!" because a) I blended well ^_^ and b) the entire tenor line was masked by one of my ex-friends' very piercing and very nasal operatic voice ^_^

Anyway, that's MY random contribution to bloggage.
