*plays catchup*

I have nothing to blog about.

No, really.

At least, there are plenty of things I *could* blog about, but they've mainly been covered by certain people, which could frankly get dull. Mayday was its usual Oxford wonderful self, with obscenely early start (4.30am... @_@ That's a time that would never exist if God was really kind and loving....), poor trebles from the Magdalene college choir as always, and much random stuff. Watching it with the usual suspects was good fun, and the bridge was rather less of a crush than I remember it being last year - think the police were getting paranoid all over the place. I got my annual sprig of Lily of the Valley, so my luck will now hold good for another year ^_^ There were also morris dancers, but sadly no stealth ninja morris dancers with black bells and hankies like there were last year. Maybe they were off on an assassination mission, or something else of international importance. Breakfast at Macdonalds (perfectly balanced between the four main food groups - salt, fat, sugar, and burnt crunchy bits), then - ahahaha - off to my Ancient History class.

Have I blogged about my new Ancient History tutor yet? Probably not, for lo my blogging hath suckethed muchly of late. I blame the essays. And the work. And the brainmelt. And the lack of sleep. And the Laguna (no, I still haven't finished it, for lo I sucketh at FFVIII as well as blogging). In any case, I have a new tutor, who is alarmingly intelligent and is teaching me about colonisation in the 8th century BC and other fun subjects. He's also (vicarious showing off coming up) advising on the new Alexander the Great movie that's coming out next year sometime, so if I ever want to distract him I just have to ask about that and he goes off on a spiel about 'yes, and when I was having lunch with Colin Farrell the other week - an extraordinarily dull man, you know....'

So...yeah. Where was I. Right, Ancient History tute, lecture, general trying-to-stay-awake-and-read-Greek-ness for a couple of hours, then the kerfuffle that was the first animesoc meeting of term. Most people reading will already know the story, but suffice it to say that Tasha's room does not make the best venue for installing twenty or so people to watch random new anime. At least the anime was good - really want to see more of Matantei Loki - Ragnorak, and not *just* because it has Miki-san playing a guy who seems alarmingly like a comedy version of Riff from Count Cain. Also wanting to see more of Last Exile, which felt a little like Gundam On Earth, and featured much Miyazaki-style prettiness. Anne, if you're reading this, I recommend it. Also Getbackers and Wolf's Rain continue to be uber-cool, and D N Angel continues to be slashier than a very slashy thing. Ickle Eriol/Muraki hybrid kid is fan*tas*tic.

Friday. What did happen on Friday. Oh yes, got too little sleep owing to playing FFVIII until too late (or possibly early), then had to get up for lecture, so somewhat sleep deprived. Lecture, lunchtime music recital by a friend which was a nice change of pace, lunch with music people, Bodleian, reading, blah blah. Stayed working in the Bod until about 7, when Tasha and I decided to go have pizza, since the words were beginning to swim in front of my eyes. Pizza was....pizza-ish (mmm....nutrients...), then met up with the other scums for cinema. They dragged me not *quite* kicking and screaming into Welcome to Collinwood (which I thought looked shite), only succeeding because I was pacified by chocolate raisons. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting - even vaguely amusing in a couple of places - and the entire thing was redeemed by the BMW advert shortfilm at the beginning, with Gary Oldman as the (gay) devil. Featured the best line in the world: 'You don't like *girls* do you? You don't know what you're missing!' *falls off chair laughing* Must...download...

Then to Tasha's for anime and further crap talking, until 3.30am. Then staggered home for sleep, before dragging myself out of bed again at 9 so I could get a reasonable morning's work done at the Bod. Damn them for closing at 1pm on Saturdays. That does *not* get my essays written. So... Bod until 1, quick sandwich, college library until 4.30, coffee with nee-sama, back here....think that brings me up to date. Ugh, sorry, I hate writing blogs which are just 'I did that, then I did that', but I think I needed to get caught up. I will try to do some interesting analysing blog bits sometime soon, but at the moment I have brain melt through cumulative sleep deprivation, and I need to go read for my Aristophanes essay.

Mrfle.

Oh, and if you haven't seen the latest episode of Weebl and Bob, go see it now. It's rather more amusing than this blog entry, though admittedly so is colonoscopy. 'Look at my lovely hat.......'

But...but...but... ALL my blog entries are "I did this, I did that"! And they're _fascinating_ !

...don't shatter my illusions yet.
