'Better stand back/Here's an age attack...'

Eternal thanks to Neil Gaiman and his blog, without whom I might have completely missed this little gem, which has considerably brightened up my day and may well keep me laughing throughout the summer.

Ladies and gentlemen, we present.... Andrew Motion's birthday rap for Prince William.

And they said middle-aged middle-class white men couldn't be down wit' the hood.... *bangs head on desk* Why?! Why??!!

That rap caused me actual physical pain...

You know, I think even _I'm_ more hip 'n happenin' than that. Maybe.

That does rap - a genre I generally despise - a great discredit. Eeeew.

Maybe _I_ should be Poet Laureate.

I don't particularly care for rap. I was actually embarrased for,
1: the prince (whom I am not the least partial toward and actually find very annoying)
2: everyone who wrote a reply on the page with that...rap...in support of it
3: the poor guy who wrote it, thinking he was cool while doing it, and afterward as well. (I sincearly hope he was being cynical and sarcastic)

Even -I- write better lyrics. *shudders violently and moves on*
