Final Fantasy VII: the first 20 hours @_@
I've been playing FFVII today. For...ummm, about 11 hours pretty much solidly, with brief breaks for lunch and dinner. And I didn't stop because I was bored, I stopped because my eyes were starting to feel funny @_@ This game is so damn cool! And...really, really fucked up @_@ I didn't expect Cloud to be quite so fucked up, it's unnerving. I've only really been introduced to him via backstory-esque fics, in which he is a) rather more fluffy and genki, and b) not quite so...schitz @_@
Other particularly notable features include:
1. Vincent is Teh Cool. It's the battle pose: when all the others are bouncing around like deranged tennis players, Vincent just turns side-on like a master fencer and shoots things. Ohhhhh yeah.
2. I understood *exactly* what Katy sees in Sephiroth during the first flashback sequence where we had to fight together, and Squall's dealing damage to a dragon of about 20 health points, and Sephiroth is dealing damage of about 3000. Eheh. Well, I feel inadequate.
3. I had naively assumed that Squall's uber-crush on Sephiroth was one of those fan conventions that wouldn't be too strongly rooted in the game. I was wrong. My goodness.
4. Red XIII also owns. I like a giant red hyena beast with a sense of humour and an angsty backstory.
5. Cloud really reminded me of Squall to start off with @_@ That was something of a shock.
6. Despite the fact that I Switched The Playstation Off an hour ago, my brain is still buzzing with materia combinations >_< >_<
7. I still want to join Shinra. Because Rufus is *still* the crappy version of Treize. I love him for the hair-flick alone.
