Van Helsing: The London Assignment
I already gave these to Lizzu, so I needn't worry about spoiling her gleeful surprise by posting them here. This evening we rented the Van Helsing animated mini-feature thingy, and it was 32 minutes of purest cheese that was *considerably* better than the actual film. And slashier. If that were possible. Oh, so much slashier.
Mainly because of this scene.
A touch of background info: pre-film, Van Helsing and Carl are on the trail of a serial killer who preys on young women. And the answer to finding him - obviously - is to have Carl in drag.
Oh yes.
This scene actually killed all four of us, particularly me. And reminded me to a horrifying extent of just how much I wanted to write Van Helsing / Carl fic just after I came out of the film @_@ The picture linked above makes me squee fangirlishly when I look at it not because of Carl's ridiculous campness, but because of Van Helsing's expression - the smirk of gentle indulgence, the one that says 'you're an idiot but I love you anyway.' Awwwww.
The film also featured one of the more blatent double entendres to have slipped under the radars of the censors. Because, although you know logically that this scene is about Van Helsing and Carl escaping from a burning building by making use of a rope and a grappling hook, you *still* can't help hearing the lines in a rather different light.
And then, of course, there are all the traditional 'awwwww' moments like this. *pets VH and Carl* So crap, but so cute.
Think I may go write a drabble...
