Zombies and Bacchae
Man, I swear these blog entries fall off the page faster than they used to.
...okay, maybe I'm just lazier than I used to be. Sue me, I'm a finalist.
So, two new papers have been started, one essay done for each of them, and no major essay crises yet, which is a bit weird. I can't remember the last time I actually started an essay in daylight hours. Well, before this week, obviously. Doesn't mean the essays were any better (probably just the reverse), but at least I got more sleep around them.
Speaking of which, I got a happy nine-and-a-half hours last night, which was nice, and had weirdass dreams probably influenced by Resident Evil. At any rate, the format was very much like a shoot-em-up game with zombies. And also bats. We had to kill bats with swords. And you couldn't touch the sea-water because it did horrible things to you. And for some reason all the men in my team were really camp and at least one of them wanted to be a hairdresses, and another one was angsting because the choir isn't as good as it used to be, so I had to play Group Mum. And somewhere in there, there were some Roman wall paintings which were then used as the backdrop for a rather surreal production of a Greek tragedy that looked rather like the Bacchae but I was certain was Antigone and had more Medea-esque baby death than either of them.
I have *no idea* where that dream was going. It's one of those where the narrative logic didn't even make sense at the *time*.
I intended to get up rather earlier to write some fic, but hey, this'll do. I think I need to start kicking the ass of the AAAAAAAAAAAU (as I've now christened the weirdass GW extreme-AU), though I'm not quite sure how to set about it. It's jolly awkward when you can't introduce your other main character for at *least* another three chapters yet. Hmph.
Oh yeah, and some stuff happened. Pretty sure it involved zombies. There's been kind of a zombie theme about this week.
