The Dark is Rising: slash fanfic rules

Or at least as far as I've been able to glean them in my reading over the last couple of days.

1. No matter what relationships the other characters may be in, Will and Bran will always be getting off with each other in a closet somewhere in Wales.

2. Hawkin and Merriman. Theirloveissodestructive.

3. Gwion. 'nuff said. He's got that cissy stringy music thing. 'We've been through this, it's a harp.' All right. That's a harp, and that's a dress. '*Robe*.'

4. One may indeed go on alone, but he never damn well seems to stay there if Will needs someone to angst at in futurefics.

5. '"...Loving bonds," Merriman said, "are outside the control even of the High Magic, for they are the strongest thing on all of this earth." (Silver on the Tree.) Best. Let-out clause. *Ever*. Bran needs his memory back? Loving bonds! Need a happy ending for Hawkin? Loving bonds! Awesome.

6. Will and Bran are *still* getting off with each other in a closet in Wales. Just so you know. Theirloveissodestined.

I should really know better than to reread beloved children's books.

SO VERY WRONG I hope you know that. Shame on you. :-p

And it isn't a closet, it's a little hut on a mountainside somewhere. It's a question of practicality, there has to be room for the sheepdog.

*with dignity* The hut is only available on rare occasions, usually in rain storms or when Bran's father is having to help hunt the Ty Bont foxes over night. It should be used only for Big Emotional Getting Off moments (see also no. 5), due to its links with Bran's backstory. The closet, however, is *always* available, particularly at drunken New Year parties. Providing John Rowlands restrains Bran's dad.

The sheepdog can keep watch outside the closet. It'll be fine.

You display entirely too much knowledge of a fandom I am never, ever going near :-p

Write out 200 times (in copperplate): voyeurism is still voyeurism with a border collie.

...I hate you >_

Oh, I don't know why I bother, nothing I say is going to help at this point.

You *know* you're intrigued by the possibilities of Will and Bran and all that isolated-last-Old-One- and-his-brain-washed-sovereign angst slash. Just admit it.
