Tsk. No one got (or even tried to get) yesterday's quotation. Sad, I call it. Well, it was silver age Flash again. No one else is quite as lame as Barry 'I'm-a-comic-book-geek-and-wear-sports-jackets' Allen. Today's is considerably easier, I think.

SNOW!!! Snow snow snow snow. Yay. I love snow. Especially deeply incongruous Athenian snow. Because you know intellectually that they get snow in Athens, you see it on the weather forecast, you read about it in your classical sources, but it's still a bit of a surprise when you can hardly see the Acropolis for the drifting snow flurries. It was jolly exciting, even if there is precisely zero chance of any of it settling.

Of course, it does rather throw a damper (literally) over our guided tour of the agora, which was a bit of a shame, especially as the chap giving the tour was connected with the museum and the excavations and evidently Knew His Stuff. It's difficult to focus on a tour of the agora when you're rapidly losing feeling in your extremities. Was still jolly interesting, and I got to pay my respects to some ostraka (which is exciting if you're me and are interested in ostracism or literacy levels), so I'd still count it as a happy and successful trip.

Oh! Yes. And you are Teh Awesome for the package of origami and Laguna goodness that arrived in the post today ^___^ Plus it totally made me look like the cool kid, getting post from Japan in my second week here. Rock on.
