Incredibly, Shoujo Kakumei Utena the stage musical managed to add yet *another* layer of incomprehensible surrealism on top of those already in place from the manga, the series and the movie. Utena's surprise birthday party got off to a bad start when she was a little *too* surprised and decapitated three of the guests with the Sword of Dios. Katy To prove their rampant masculinity, the Utena boys have an "Owners Who Look Like Their Pet Roses" contest. (Or along the same lines... To refute claims they were gay, the Utena boys put on a Broadway spectacular.) Declan The lads didn't quite understand the principles of Boogiepop Phantom. The Musical episode of Utena - "Once more unto the field" - is a great success. Roses are red, Violets are blue, We're three dancing divas, Performing just for you. The annual Ohtori Academy Talent Contest didn't get off to the best of starts. The Singing 'Competition-o-gram' sent to the list by Tasha shocked most people into silence. Reports that the Ohtori Academy shut down over Christmas were greatly exaggerated.
