Hilary 2004 - Events

Meetings every Friday 8pm in the Saskatchewan Room, Exeter College.

4th week, Saturday (14th) - Revolutionary Girl Utena: Black Rose Arc - a marathon of the second arc of our regular show, Revolutionary Girl Utena. (Exeter College)

6th week, Saturday (28th) - Shoujothon II - the return of the male committee members' pet project! (Yes, we know it's odd that Ivan and Andrew like shoujo and Katy's the resident shounen fan. Don't remind us.) Preliminary playlist includes Kaleido Star, Maria-sama ga Miteru, Princess Tutu, Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch, Jubei-chan 2, maybe some Fruits Basket and some variety of Sailor Moon, but they are open to suggestions. Watch the mailing list for further details! (venue TBC)

Date TBC (end of term usually) - Edamame night - The termly drunken rampage... err, society dinner at Oxford's best Japanese restaurant.

Hilary 2004 - Series

Continuing:

Trigun
Classic futuristic western comedy-drama hijinks.

Wolf's Rain
An unlikely pack of "wolves" search for Paradise in this sci-fi "road movie" series.

Last Exile
Grand conspiracies and convoluted relationships set against a massive aerial war.

Revolutionary Girl Utena
Torrid emotions and complex metaphors mixed with floating castles and fencing duels. Roses will never be the same again.

The Twelve Kingdoms
Shoujo with bite as the girl-in-fantasy-world cliche is infused with dollops of deceit and murder.

And coming soon to replace it...
Haibane Renmei
From the pen of Yoshitoshi Abe (Lain, NieA_7 Texhnolyze). Set in a beautiful but mysterious other world, the show follows the life of Rakka, a newcomer to the town who has no memory of her previous existence. Superbly animated with a moving storyline and characters, Haibane Renmei is one of the most outstanding anime dramas of the past few years.

Additionally:

The Random Episode of the Week - where time permits, requests taken...

Occasional themed weirdness, depending on the insane whims of the Committee.
